Choose sender identity carefully
Recipients use the From address to recognize who sent the message and may rely on it for trust decisions. Use an address and display name that match the organization or service users expect.
Reply-To can route responses to a support desk or monitored mailbox without changing the visible sender. Confirm that the reply destination exists, is staffed, and is appropriate for the content being sent.
Test both delivery and response behavior
Inspect the delivered headers and send a reply from a test recipient. Verify that replies go to the intended mailbox and that the visible identity does not mislead recipients about who is contacting them.
Do not use a Reply-To address to impersonate another organization or bypass sender authentication. Coordinate the visible domain, reply destination, and mail authentication records so providers and recipients receive consistent signals.
