Connect a domain to a hosted project

Add the domain, update DNS records, and confirm the connection is ready.

domainDNShosting

You can connect a domain you already own without moving its registration. Add the domain in the project’s domain settings; IaGenify will show the records needed to prove ownership and route traffic to the project.

Add the domain to your project

Enter the hostname you want visitors to use, such as the root domain or a subdomain. Follow the displayed instructions for the exact hostname you added. If you use both the root and a www address, add and verify each one as directed.

Update DNS where the domain is managed

Open the DNS settings at your current registrar or DNS provider and add the records shown in the project. Check the name, type, and value carefully. Remove conflicting records only when you know they serve no other purpose.

Confirm the connection

Return to the project and wait for verification. DNS changes may take a while to propagate. Once the domain reports as connected, visit it over HTTPS and confirm it opens the expected project.

Connecting a domain routes one you already own. Buying or renewing a domain is a separate transaction with its registrar.

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep my current registrar?

Yes. Connecting a domain does not move its registration or renewal.

Why is the domain not verified yet?

Recheck the record name and value, then allow time for DNS changes to propagate.
