Can I send an image to an agent along with text?

Combining an image with text can give the agent visual context for a question. A useful request explains both what the image shows and what you want the agent to do with it.

Agent

Give the image a clear purpose

Attach the image as an image input and include a short description of the task. You might ask for visible text to be transcribed, objects to be identified, a layout to be reviewed, or differences between two images to be summarized. Avoid an open-ended instruction such as “look at this” when you need a particular kind of analysis.

Add context that cannot be inferred from the pixels, such as what a label means, which part matters, or what decision the observation will support. If the image contains several panels or a small detail, point to the relevant area in words. This helps the agent focus its attention and gives you a result you can evaluate against the question.

Check the result against the image

Image interpretation can be uncertain when text is small, a photo is blurry, or the scene is partly obscured. Ask the agent to distinguish what is visibly present from what it is inferring, and verify important labels or measurements yourself. Do not use a visual guess as the only basis for a consequential decision.

If the selected model does not accept image input, choose a compatible option or provide a text description instead. Keep sensitive images limited to the task, and avoid including unnecessary personal information. A focused image request plus a human check is more dependable than treating the first interpretation as ground truth.
