# When should I request a webpage screenshot?
Request a screenshot when the visual appearance of a page matters. The fetch tool can return readable page content and a full-page image from the same capture, helping an agent inspect layout and rendering instead of relying on text alone.

## Use an image for visual questions
Readable page output helps locate wording, links, and structured information. It cannot show whether a heading wraps awkwardly, a button is hidden, or a mobile layout has collapsed. A screenshot gives the agent a visual record of the captured page to inspect those details.
Screenshots are useful after building or changing a page, when comparing it with a reference, or when a user reports that something looks broken. The tool captures the whole page as an image; it does not replace checking the actual text or interactive behavior.
## Combine the capture with other evidence
A screenshot shows one rendered state at one viewport and moment. It may not reveal content below a lazy-loading boundary, a menu that appears only after interaction, or behavior at another screen size. Inspect the relevant page state and viewport, and use browser interaction when the issue depends on clicking, typing, or navigation.
The fetch tool can also include console errors and the slowest network requests in the same capture. Use those details to diagnose a blank page or missing assets, then compare them with the image and readable content. This helps distinguish a visual defect from a script failure or a resource that never loaded. [← Back to Tools FAQs](https://help.iagenify.com/faqs/tools)
