# What happens to the current site if a new deployment fails?
A failed deployment does not disconnect the previous healthy deployment. The existing version can continue serving while you investigate the failure and prepare another attempt.

## Confirm which version is active
A new deployment failure applies to that attempt. If the project already has a healthy deployment, it remains the version being served; the failed build does not replace it with a partial site. Check the project's deployment history and status instead of assuming the most recent entry is active.
If visitors report a problem at the same time, check whether it began before the failed attempt. A separate change to the domain, settings, or application may explain it. Record the deployment identifier and error so the investigation refers to the right release.
## Fix the cause before retrying
Inspect whether the failure came from the build, required settings, or application startup. Correct that specific issue, deploy again, and wait for the new attempt to reach a healthy state. Repeating an attempt without changing its cause is unlikely to help.
After the next deployment succeeds, visit key pages and flows. If the new version is healthy but behaves incorrectly, select a known-good release from deployment history when available, then verify the site again. Remove secrets from logs before sharing them with support. [← Back to Hosting FAQs](https://help.iagenify.com/faqs/hosting)
