# Are SSL certificates included?
SSL is issued automatically for deployments, including those using a custom domain, and is not an add-on charge.

After deployment, confirm the site loads over HTTPS.
If the certificate is not ready immediately, check the deployment and domain onboarding status.
## Practical guidance
SSL is applied automatically to every deployment and is included at no additional cost, including deployments using custom domains. This means you do not need to arrange a separate certificate purchase as part of the ordinary deployment flow. The domain still needs to be connected and the deployment must complete its setup before visitors can use the secured address.
After deploying, check the host and custom-domain status in the project rather than assuming that certificate provisioning is the only setup step. If a custom domain is not yet serving the site, verify its DNS connection and the deployment status. Avoid adding a separate certificate configuration unless your use case specifically requires something outside the included setup.
