# Can I renew my domain through IaGenify?
Domain renewals are handled by the registrar where you registered the name. IaGenify manages the domain's DNS zone, but it does not purchase or renew registrations on your behalf.

## Know which service controls each part
A domain registration and its DNS hosting are related but separate services. The registrar controls the registration term, renewal settings, and payment for the name. IaGenify can manage DNS records for a domain you add, but changing those records does not extend the registration period.
You can use the domain tools to inspect registration information where registry data is available, including an estimated time until expiry. That lookup is informational: it does not prove that auto-renew is enabled, settle an outstanding invoice, or submit a renewal to the registrar. Check the registrar account for the authoritative renewal status.
## Renew with the registrar, then keep DNS in place
Sign in to the registrar that holds the registration and review its renewal date, payment method, and contact email. If you have moved DNS management to IaGenify, the DNS zone can remain here when the registration is renewed, provided the domain continues to use the required nameservers.
If a registration expires, the registrar's recovery rules and timing determine whether the name can still be renewed and whether extra fees apply. Do not wait for a DNS warning to act: DNS configuration and registration renewal are different controls, and a working zone cannot prevent a registrar expiry.
